Litigation support through demographics can take on many guises, but it usually involves intensive local demographic work. For a plant site that emitted toxic waste over many decades, Decision Demographics estimated how many people had ever lived within close proximity, and how many of those were still in the state, therefore qualifying to be part of a class.

A group of Native Americans seeking tribal status needed unique forensic demographic work to establish their community status. Decision Demographics searched historical censuses at the National Archives for tribal members, created a detailed genealogy, and used the birth, baptism, marriage, and census records to estimate how many tribe members were in residence annually for over 150 years.

Decision Demographics helped the NWLC create a series of state reference books about the status of women and women's health.
